What time should I take the DAT? Morning or afternoon?

From a recent Q&A:

Do you think the time you take your test matters? I am thinking of taking it at 3:30 PM and doing light review of each subject before I head off to the test center. Thanks for the advice.

In my opinion, the time doesn’t matter at all. I took mine in the afternoon. I guess it depends if you’re a morning person or not. It won’t matter test day, you’ll have so much adrenaline running through you, you’ll be awake no matter what. I like the afternoon though so I could cook my own breakfast and lunch (I enjoy to cook, it puts me in a good mood). I don’t think reviewing anything test day would help – it would just freak you out and make you believe you don’t know anything.

For the day of the test, here is what I recommend:

  1. Get a good nights sleep.
  2. Wake up and have a good breakfast: eat a lot of waffles, honey, water, ham, egg, whatever you like.
  3. Do something you enjoy: go for a run, read the paper, play a game, etc.
  4. Then, head over to the test center and crush the exam.

You’ve got this! Conquer the DAT!
